She Walks in Beauty Poster

She Walks in Beauty

Another type experiment, this time using Gill Sans. The poem is She Walks in Beauty by George Gordon, Lord Byron. The piece was made in poster size (18×24), but I also have a convenient iPhone wallpaper size for download.

Robert Frost Also Writes Poetry

Robert Frost iPhone Wallpaper

New typography experiment featuring Robert Frost's poem In a Disused Graveyard. In the same vein as my last piece, Walt Whitman Wears Shades, which is basically just me experimenting with new techniques and typography. The typeface used is Lucida Fax. Purposely made the original poster size — 18 × 24 — so maybe one day I'll get some printed up. Enjoy.

Walt Whitman is Cooler Than You

Walt Whitman Wears Shades

New illustration with a focus on typography for a change. Iphone wallpaper. Poem. Walt Whitman. Yeah.

The official title is "Walt Whitman Wears Shades" as you'll see why if you look at the image. The featured poem, called A Clear Midnight, was part of the compilation Leaves of Grass from 1900.

I wanted to do an exercise with typography and this is what happened. Just maybe I'll get a poster printed of this sometime. Oh, and the typeface is Lucida Std if any typophiles out there are interested. Enjoy.

I Have an iPhone

So I finally got an iPhone. I planed to buy one anyway this month but the process was sped up when I inherited an iPhone (1st generation) from a friend after a funny sequence of events. I spent the last couple days really getting into and exploring what it can do, hunting down apps that I wanted, upgrading and all the things people do when they have an iPhone.

What helped my progress was I already had an AT&T service. I swapped the SIM card and hooked it up to iTunes, within an hour (i also did a complete reset) I was up and running. To date I have a few games (Super Monkey Ball is super monkey difficult) and a handful of really helpful apps like Todo, Evernote and Twitterific. Also my email accounts are synced too which is extremely convenient.

To be honest I don't miss the 3G's speed (probably since I've never had it) but it would be nice to have the GPS. The selling point for me on getting an iPhone would needing to be connected when not on a computer. For now it lets me do that, very easily. And I get to play games, which helps.
