For those of you that have been to the portfolio side of this site, you may recognize the name MemberFuse™. For awhile now the place I work for, NFi Studios, who coincidently loves puppies, has been working on a social networking application called MemberFuse™. What is this MemberFuse™ you speak of? Well, I'll tell you...

Social networking is not just a fad and is not only limited to MySpace and Facebook anymore. Niche social networks are cropping up all over the web and have been getting noticed. Behance, Design:Related, Red Carpet Monday, Talent Database and Creative Binge are just a few that I can name off the top of my head. In that same vein, MemberFuse™ is a niche professional networking application for associations. Along with having a great set of key features specific for association use, it has all the features you'd expect from a social network today.

My part in this little project was the design. I designed the entire UI (user interface), did a good chunk of front end coding , CSS styling and spent many a night dreaming of blue and silver gradients. But, as they say, there is no "I" in team. A big pat on the back to everyone at NFi Studios for making this happen. Also caffeine. A big thanks to caffeine.

If you'd like to know more about MemberFuse™, check it out the website.

Creative Binge is a new site that I came upon one day while browsing an article on Smashing Magazine. I was immediately impressed within the first second I clicked on the link. Binge is a social networking site for the creative community. Users are encouraged to upload their portfolios and provide brief summaries about themselves just like every other social networking site out there. So what sets Creative Binge apart from the rest.

Simply put: great usability focused design. Binge has even been featured on multiple gallery websites, Smashing Magazine, and Tutorial Blog for its inspirational and standards-compliant design.

Along with the social networking aspect, the site also includes forums and a blog. The site is still at its infancy and presently doesn't have a lot of the features that have come to embody most social networking sites, such as friends and groups, but new features are being added and improved upon all the time.

Maybe the best designed social networking site since Virb, Creative Binge is the best spot for creatives to congregate online. Check it out and show your support at: creativebinge.com
