Instacart provides same-day grocery delivery services across North America. I joined the Shopper team and worked on improving experiences within the native mobile app. In addition, I collaborated closely with cross-functional partners to set roadmaps, define processes and execute designs across multiple parallel projects.

Designing for impact

I designed features that significantly impacted operations and the user experience. Cumulatively, these improvements resulted in a 9% reduction in contact rate and a 7% decrease in late deliveries. Additionally, shopper activations increased by 15% and engaged activations by 8%.

Changing the working model

We enhanced the order acceptance process by showing shoppers a single order to accept or decline. This reduced competition and gave shoppers more time to evaluate orders. Nationwide testing showed fewer support tickets, fewer late orders, and improved experiences in high-supply areas.

Becoming compliant with mandatory trainings

Prop 22, a California ballot measure, mandated safety and other trainings. We launched the safety training feature for all users, repurposing a similar app experience to meet the tight timeline and become compliant.
